Question 5

Do I need to purchase a North Beach State Park Parking Pass?

Yes! Park passes are optional; however, if you're planning to park and/or play at North Beach State Park, especially on Fridays and Saturdays between July 1st and August 15th, we highly recommend purchasing a parking pass in advance. Off-peak days and weekdays are less busy; however, buying your pass the same day is still a gamble. If you plan to go, it's best to purchase a pass for each vehicle.

If you are not planning to spend the day at the beach but only launching your boat and parking, some trailer parking spots have been set aside for this purpose. However, once those fill up, you will be turned away unless you have a parking pass.

I have an Idaho State Parks Pass. Do I still need to purchase a parking pass? Yes! You won't have to pay the entrance fee, but you will still need to purchase a parking pass.

FYI: Dogs/Pets are not allowed on North Beach.

Where can I operate?

Lake RentalsWARNING: North Beach State Park's launch low water levels are currently posted as "Launch at your own risk". If lake levels drop belown the point where it is safe to launch, you will need to launch at another safe launch ramp such as Bear Lake Marina. Lake rentals are allowed on Bear Lake only to prevent the spread of invasive species.All of our boats, PWCs, paddleboards, and kayaks are registered and licensed in both Utah and Idaho for operation on Bear Lake.Customer Launch and Retrieval: You may launch your vessel at any safe launch ramp on Bear Lake. (May depend on water levels.)North Bear Rentals delivery Service: Delivery is available only to North Beach State Park.If you are not planning to spend the day at the beach but only launching your boat and parking, some trailer parking spots have been set aside for this purpose. Park in the lot, use the bathrooms, and take a gorgeous beginner/intermediate 20-25 minute hike to the glacial, picturesque lake. Take a hike, swim, paddleboard, or swing off the rope swing!Paris Canyon: Take Pole Road (unpaved) to Paris and then head up Paris Canyon, explore Paris Springs where water gushes from the mountainside. Then head to the FREE Paris Ice Caves, park, and follow the short trail to the keyhole entrance into the open shaft. Don't forget to duck under the wall into the cave with your flashlights to see columns of ice almost all year long! If you have extra time, take a tour through the Bird Reserve!North Beach/East Side: Load up your paddleboards and beach toys and take North Beach Road to North Beach State Park. If vehicles are allowed on the beach, you can drive on the beach (15 mph). Travel to the east side is allowed, and public access is available where posted.

How do the rental periods work?

North Bear Rentals LLC is proud to bring a new rental experience to the Bear Lake Valley. Pick up in the morning or the evening before and beat the crowds! Rental periods begin at your scheduled Check-On time. Please call us at 208-240-2341 if you would like to arrive 20 minutes early for your scheduled appointment to get a head start, OR if you are experiencing complications and will be delayed.
 
BOATS/PWC/BEACH: Pick up in the morning or the evening before! An extra hour is provided for the launch and retrieval process. Walk-Ins or when distance or overnight parking is an issue! Pick up in the morning, enjoy your day, and return in the evening!

Please Note: An extra hour has been provided to your lake rentals to allow for check-on, transportation, launch and retrieval, and refueling.

Half-Day Pick Ups - 5 hours - Great for Walk-Ins and last-minute reservations!
(Half-Day reservation options open the first day of the season)
Morning Pick Ups - 9 hours - Perfect for an all-day of play!
Evening Pick Ups - 23 hours - Enjoy an evening cruise and/or get to the lake early!

Why can't I see the Half-Day option?

What if we experience bad WEATHER during our rental?

Unexpected weather conditions can arise throughout the year, and Bear Lake is no exception, with storms frequently occurring towards the day's end. We kindly request that you check the weather conditions 24 hours prior to your check on time to receive a refund.If you see concerning weather, we will be happy to adjust your reservation as long as your equipment is available.

What is North Bear Rentals' cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled rental start time to receive a refund or credit (as applicable). No cancellations, refunds, or reschedules are allowed within 24 hours of the rental start time. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged in full.

Rental time Extensions and Late Fees

YES!

A prorated extension can be scheduled as long as there are no conflict with the preparation of your vessel for the next rental pick up. Pro-rated extensions can be scheduled within the 24 hours pior to and up to your pick up time.

Unscheduled late returns are based off the half day rate divided by 4 hours.

We apreciate you arriving promptly at your scheduled check-on/check-off times!

(208-240-2341).Please complete ALL documentation and waivers prior to arrival.Please call us if you would like to arrive 20 minutes early for your scheduled appointment to get a head start, OR if you are experiencing complications and will be delayed.If North Bear Rentals is fueling your equipment, a fueling charge will be added to cover our merchant/platform fees.If towing, all trailers require a 2" ball and a large, round light adapter. Loaner hitches and adapters are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please provide auto towing insurance coverage upon request. For more information on booking requirements and the North Beach State Park parking pass, click HERE.LAKE RENTALSIMPORTANT: North Beach State Park's launch ramps are now posted as "Launch at your own risk!" due to the low water levels. We are assessing the lake level daily. If lake levels reach a level where launching at North Beach is no longer possible, you will need to launch at another safe launch ramp such as Bear Lake Marina in Garden City.All BOAT/PWC rentals MUST arrive at North Bear Rentals to complete documentation, select safety equipment, review the equipment's condition, and receive important safety and operating information. We cannot perform the check-on at the park. Lake delivery service is available only for North Beach State Park at this time. (Option 1) Customer Launch and Retrieval: Once your check-on is complete, you will launch and retrieve your vessel at any safe launch ramp on Bear Lake, at your own risk. After your rental, you will fuel your equipment.(Option 2) North Bear Rentals Delivery Service: ($200 round trip) Once your check-on is complete, North Bear Rentals will deliver and launch your vessel. Step on, step off! 
RETURN: We will arrive at North Beach State Park 4 hours/half-day, 8 hours/full day after your launch, or at an agreed upon time to pick you up. A North Bear Rentals staff member will meet you at the dock to trailer your vessel. Passenger transportation from the south ramp to the park entrance is provided, if needed. At the boat prep area, where you may remove personal items, we will complete your check-off and prepare your vessel for transportation. We will fuel your equipment upon return and charge your deposit + 10% fuel charge.UTV RENTALSUTV rental check-on will be performed at either the North Bear Rentals location OR your delivery location. Is fuel included with my rental?

No, fuel is not included with your rental. Please keep your receipt so we can verify proper fuel was purchased for the next customer. For non-delivery, you will fuel your equipment at any of the following locations with either Premium or Non-Ethanol fuel.

Mike's Market: Garden City - Ethanol Free AvailablePost delivery fueling we charge exactly what your fuel costs plus merchant fees charged by platform.Rental equipment returned unfueled or under fueled will be charged a $25 fueling fee, unless previously agreed upon.

Failure to meet standard towing requirements, basic competency, the inability to understand operation, safety, or use instructions may result in cancellation. North Bear Rentals reserves the right to refuse service.
